Our Velvet Powder Brows

Powder brows, also known as ombre powder brows, are a popular semi-permanent makeup technique that creates perfectly filled eyebrows with a soft, powdery finish. It is the solution for all brow concerns. Eyebrows can be made fuller, wider, longer, or more defined. It fills in sparse areas, gives the brows more definition, or corrects asymmetry. Everything is possible with the goal of achieving the most natural-looking eyebrow. This technique is ideal for anyone who wants flawless and natural brows without the daily effort. The results stay beautiful for 2 to 3 years.

Wake up every morning with perfect brows!

Beautiful brows with a natural result

The result of a powder brow treatment is eyebrows that look as if they have been subtly filled in with brow powder, without any harsh lines. The start of the brow is kept more transparent, gradually becoming more intense toward the ends. This creates a soft gradient effect, giving a natural appearance. The result is gentle, natural, and tailored to your unique face shape and skin tone.

Also suitable for fair skin types
Powder brows are ideal for those with naturally light eyebrows or sparse hair growth. We work with a wide palette of pigment colors, including very subtle shades. The result can be applied as soft and airy as you desire. Using the shading technique, we create a natural, refined brow that complements your face without appearing too heavy.

Powder brows are designed to enhance your natural beauty and provide a subtle, authentic look. Keep in mind that if you are seeking a darker, more dramatic makeup effect, this treatment will not deliver the desired result.

Who are Powder Brows for?

Powder brows (or Ombré brows) use a shading technique to create a soft, misty look similar to brow powder. They are the go-to choice for:

  • All Skin Types:
Unlike microblading, powder brows work perfectly on oily or mature skin where hair strokes might otherwise blur.
  • The “Ready-to-Go” Look:
Ideal if you want your makeup to look professionally done every morning without the effort.
  • Active Lifestyles:
Perfect for swimmers and gym-goers who need smudge-proof brows that won’t wash off.
  • Sparse Brows:
Great for filling in gaps or adding definition to very thin natural hair.

Who should avoid Powder Brows?

While powder brows are versatile, they are not recommended if any of the following apply to you:

  • Accutane (Isotretinoin) Users:
This is a major red flag. You must wait 6–12 months after your last dose, as the medication makes your skin too thin and fragile to heal.
  • Blood Thinners:
If you use medication that thins the blood, it can cause excessive bleeding during the process, leading to poor pigment retention and patchy results.
  • Active Skin Issues:
You should skip the appointment if you have eczema, psoriasis, or active acne directly in the brow area, as the skin won’t take the pigment properly.
  • History of Keloids:
If your skin is prone to raised scarring (keloids), any form of permanent makeup is generally considered too risky.
  • Pregnancy or Nursing:
Due to hormonal shifts that affect color and the slight risk of infection, most professionals will not perform the procedure.
  • Sunburn or Fresh Tan:
If you have a sunburn, your skin is in “repair mode,” which will cause the pigment to shift color or fade almost immediately.

Note: Always consult with a professional if you have a pre-existing condition, as a doctor’s note is often required for safety.

The Advantages of Powder Brows

  • Longevity:
They typically last 2 to 4 years, which is significantly longer than microblading.
  • Less Invasive:
The technique uses a small machine that gently “taps” pigment into the skin, causing less trauma and scarring over time compared to manual cutting.
  • Suits Everyone:
It is the only semi-permanent brow technique that works consistently well on oily, thick, or mature skin.
  • Low Maintenance:
Once healed, you can ditch the brow pencils and powders. They are 100% smudge-proof and waterproof.
  • Customizable Density:
You can choose a very soft, “barely there” tint or a more defined, “bold makeup” look depending on your preference.
  • Better Aging:
As the pigment fades, it tends to do so more evenly than hair strokes, which can sometimes become blurry or “fuzzy” over the years.

The Treatment

A powder brow treatment consists of two sessions. The first session takes approximately 2.5 hours, including the intake, drawing the outline, and the actual procedure. After the treatment, you will receive clear aftercare instructions, and a follow-up session will be scheduled. This follow-up is meant to adjust the color intensity and ensure the results last longer.

1st Treatment (345,-)

  • During the intake, we create a personalized recommendation based on your wishes, skin type, bone structure, age, and personality.
  • The eyebrows are carefully measured and pre-drawn to create the ideal shape that matches your face and existing brows.
  • Only when you are satisfied and approve the design does the treatment begin.

Touch up (50,-)

  • Ensures that the pigment anchors well in the skin, resulting in a longer-lasting effect.
  • Adjusts color intensity and enhances filling, coverage, and density for a smoother result.
  • After this treatment, an additional 30% of the pigment fades, leaving soft, natural powder brows as the final outcome.

Healing proces

New permanent make-up is comparable to an abrasion. Poor care and/or unhygienic treatment can cause wound infections and scar tissue. This may lead to a less attractive final result. Therefore, follow the aftercare instructions as closely as possible. This will reduce the chance of side effects and produce a better final result.

Wound Healing

  • Day 1-3: The color will appear darker than the final result.
  • Day 3-7: Small scabs will form, and the skin will start to peel slightly.
  • Day 7-10: Up to 60% of the pigment will have shed. The remaining pigment will begin to settle into the skin.
  • After 14 days: The color will gradually become a bit darker again and will reach its final color and shape after 4 weeks.

Aftercare Instruction

  • Do not apply makeup or skincare products to the eyebrows.
  • Gently clean daily with a damp cotton pad and cooled boiled water.
  • Regularly apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Bepanthen ointment using cotton swabs or clean fingers.
  • Allow scabs or peeling to come off naturally.

Would you like to see how it looks before committing to permanent makeup? Try our Powder Brow Preview. During this trial treatment, the eyebrows are carefully measured and tinted with a special dye that lasts about 5–7 days on the skin and up to 4–6 weeks on the brow hairs. Frequently asked questions

What is Velvet Powder Brows?

Velvet Powdered Brows soft shading is the newest permanent makeup technique using a machine. It is 100% customizable and is great for anyone who wants to enhance their eyebrows with a soft, and natural makeup-like finish. This method creates pixelated dots to mimic powder filled brows with no harsh front or outline. This look creates a soft, misty, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup.

How are Powder Brows DIFFERENT from microblading?

Microblading is creating and placing 3D hair like strokes using microfine needles. This method is suitable for candidates who have plenty of existing hair to blend with the created strokes. This look is suitable for those who have dark hair and want more volume. For those who have light and fine hair, we do not recommend this technique as the strokes will heal to be a bit thicker and may not blend naturally. There is no gradient effect for this technique.

How long does it last?

Throughout the years after the procedure, your skin will naturally exfoliate, and your body will naturally metabolize the pigment. All methods generally will last 1-3 years depending on skin type, conditions, and how natural or intense you want the eyebrows to look. The Velvet shading method will generally last longer due to it covering more surface area in the treated region. It is important to use SPF daily because heavy sun exposure will expedite the fading process.

What is the process like?

First, a topical anesthetic cream will be applied while we go over the different forms along with a Q&A. Consultation is done the day of the appointment. We make sure to have a consultation with you so that we have a clear understanding of what you want. Feel free to do more research prior to the appointment in order to be more knowledgeable, and confident in your decision moving forward. Once the consultation is over, we will take our time on shaping the perfect brows and selecting a pigment customized just for you. The powdering technique will start after you are happy with the shape. The tattoo treatment itself will take about 1 hour for both eyebrows. Please keep in mind, that being indecisive will take away time from your session. Please be prepared by providing photos of your ideal brow shape at the appointment. The appointment will take about 2,5 hours.

Do I get to see and choose my own eyebrow shade?

Yes, you will customize the shape and color. We will work with you and ask what your preferences are. We help guide you by giving you our expert opinions, but the decision will ultimately be yours.

Is the process painful?

A topical anesthetic will be applied before and during the procedure to minimize any discomfort. The pain level is minimal to none for most clients.

Who is it for and what are the BENEFITS?

Semi-permanent eyebrows are great for those who want to redefine their eyebrows. Whether you have naturally thin brows, or your brow-ends are fading with age. The technique we use has the ability to add volume and color to your eyebrows. We are able to reshape your brows by adding a larger or smaller angle to your arch or more detail to your ends and this is completely customized to your own preferences. This procedure is great for anyone who wants perfect eyebrows 24/7.

What is the aftercare?

During the healing time, it is crucial to avoid getting the eyebrows wet even by sweat. Heavy sun exposure could also impact the healing process of your brows. Heavy sun exposure will cause early signs of scarring during this fragile state of your skin. Please keep your makeup only on the perimeter of the eyebrows during this time and avoid penciling in your eyebrows until they are completely peeled & healed. Specific aftercare ointment and instructions will be sent home with you.

What is the healing time?

We highly recommend booking an appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. The average healing time is about 7-14 days but for few, may take longer. No down time is needed. You can certainly go to work the day after. Color boosts and touch ups are recommended for optimal results and are booked as needed.

is this procedure safe?

This method is completely safe and less invasive than a body tattoo. Proper aftercare is advised for desired results. All materials used are medically pre-sterilized, sealed, and brand new for each client. Here at Brow Bar Moraira we follow spanish standards for safe handling of blood and bodily fluids. We wrap everything to avoid cross contamination. Your safety is our first priority.
